Music bingo at a baby shower

A baby shower usually gathers a group who half know each other: family, friends and colleagues mixed together. A music bingo breaks that up faster than yet another quiz about nappies, because nobody needs to know anything.

The theme almost writes itself. Add songs about children, love or family, or take the music from the mother-to-be's teenage years. That last one is guaranteed to cause shrieking.

Songs with a nod to the theme

Look for songs with baby, love, family or happiness in them. There is no need to be rigid: a half-thematic list surrounded by good sing-alongs works most comfortably.

The music of her teenage years

This is the best trick for a baby shower. Take the hits from when the mother-to-be was fifteen to twenty. Everyone who knew her then lands in the same memory, and the rest simply sing along.

Keep it short, keep it small

A baby shower does not run long and it is mostly about talking. Choose a 3 by 3 card and a twenty-minute round with a small prize for the winner. That is all you need.

How to make this music bingo yourself

01

Paste your playlist

A link from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music or Deezer, or type your own list of songs. The app collects the titles and removes duplicates.

02

Choose playing time and win pattern

The app works out how many songs you need and picks the card size.

03

Print the unique bingo cards

Two cards per A4 with cut lines, with a matching emoji above every title, plus a checklist for the host.

04

Play the hits

The Bingo Master plays the recognizable part of every song and verifies each bingo through the card code.
