Music bingo as a team event or icebreaker

Most icebreakers feel like an exercise. Music bingo does not, because nothing is asked of you except listening. That is why even the people who normally hang back at team activities take part.

The trick is in the playlist: ask every team member for two songs. During the game it becomes clear who submitted what, and that produces more conversation than any introduction round.

Music bingo for company parties, weddings, clubs, pubs and care homes

Two songs per team member

Ask everyone for two tracks: one they genuinely love and one they are slightly ashamed of. That second category produces the best moments. With a team of fifteen you have thirty songs, enough for half an hour.

Guess who submitted what

Add an extra layer: at every song the team guesses who submitted it. Points for that count on top of the bingo. It turns a music game into a getting-to-know-you game.

Keep it short, especially during work hours

Half an hour is plenty. Choose a 3 by 3 card and play two rounds: first a row, then the full card. After that everyone can get on with the day.

How to make this music bingo yourself

01

Paste your playlist

A link from Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music or Deezer, or type your own list of songs. The app collects the titles and removes duplicates.

02

Choose playing time and win pattern

The app works out how many songs you need and picks the card size.

03

Print the unique bingo cards

Two cards per A4 with cut lines, with a matching emoji above every title, plus a checklist for the host.

04

Play the hits

The Bingo Master plays the recognizable part of every song and verifies each bingo through the card code.
